\u201cI would have despaired had I not believed I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord. Be strong. Let your heart take courage. Yes, wait on the Lord\u201d (Psalm 27:13-14).<\/strong><\/p>\n

I believe.<\/p>\n

I believe I will see.<\/p>\n

I believe I will see the goodness of the Lord.<\/p>\n

I believe I will see the goodness of the Lord (over there) in the land of the living.<\/p>\n

Without that faith, I would have despaired.<\/p>\n

Believe or despair. Those are the choices.<\/strong><\/p>\n

There are no other alternatives.<\/p>\n

No matter how we try to dress atheism up as a noble choice of right-thinking people, its only logical outcome is darkness and oblivion. The only thing such a philosophy promises is despair.<\/p>\n

The Lord\u2019s goodness will be on full display in the \u201cland of the living.\u201d\u00a0 This world is not the land of the living but of the dying.\u00a0 The land of the living lies just over the hilltop.<\/p>\n

It awaits the faithful.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

I am grieving over the death of my younger son Marty, the result of esophageal cancer which was itself a result of some bad choices he had made in life.\u00a0 (He would be the first to admit this.)\u00a0 I would have despaired but for one thing: I believed. And I know that Marty did, particularly in his final few months.<\/p>\n

I am not despairing.\u00a0 My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness. When all around my soul gives way, He then is still my hope and stay.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

I believe I will see the goodness of God on full display: His\u00a0promises made good, His children vindicated.\u00a0 The injustices of this world righted.\u00a0 The glory of God reigning. The enemy cast down. The righteous shining forever.<\/p>\n

The day will come when every eye sees Him, every knee bows before Him, and every tongue\u00a0confesses that Jesus is Lord.<\/p>\n

I believe, so I do not despair.<\/p>\n

Therefore, having such a faith, I will wait on the Lord.<\/strong><\/p>\n

You too?\u00a0 Are you waiting on the Lord?<\/p>\n

Yes, wait on the Lord.<\/p>\n

Just you wait.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cJust you wait\u201d\u00a0is the cry of a kid who has been beaten up by the schoolyard bully.\u00a0 He slowly gathers himself up off the ground, and through swollen eyes sees his big brother coming in the distance. He turns toward the bully and defiantly says\u00a0through bruised lips, \u201cJust you wait.\u201d<\/p>\n

Just you wait.\u00a0 Someone is coming.<\/p>\n

Job\u00a0was\u00a0beaten down and battered beyond description. And yet he knew Someone was coming. I know that my Redeemer liveth, and at last will stand on the earth. Whom I shall see for myself, and not another.<\/em><\/p>\n

Just you wait.<\/p>\n

We know that if the earthly house of this tabernacle is taken down, we have a building from God, eternal in the heavens.<\/em><\/p>\n

Just you wait.<\/p>\n

This momentary light affliction is working for us an exceeding weight of glory far beyond all comparison.<\/em><\/p>\n

Just you wait.<\/p>\n

To be absent from the body is to be present and at home with the Lord<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Just you wait.<\/p>\n

I will come again and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there you may be also.<\/em><\/p>\n

Just you wait.<\/p>\n

We have been born again to an inheritance that is incorrupted, undefiled, reserved in heaven for us who are being kept by the power of God for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.<\/em><\/p>\n

Just you wait.<\/p>\n

Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord the righteous Judge shall award to me on that day. And not to me only, but also to all those who love His appearing.<\/em><\/p>\n

Just you wait.<\/p>\n

It does not yet appear what we shall be. But we know that when He shall appear, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.<\/em><\/p>\n

Just you wait.<\/p>\n

This perishable must put on the imperishable. This mortal must put on immortality. This corruption must put on incorruption.\u00a0 This weakness must put on power. Then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, \u2018Death is swallowed up in victory.<\/em>‘<\/p>\n

Just you wait.<\/p>\n

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so those who sleep in Jesus shall He bring with Him.<\/em><\/p>\n

Just you wait.<\/p>\n

The Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and we shall be changed\u2013in a moment, in a twinkling of the eye.<\/em><\/p>\n

Just you wait.<\/p>\n

We shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.<\/em><\/p>\n

Just you wait.<\/p>\n

So shall we ever be with the Lord.<\/em><\/p>\n

Just you wait.<\/p>\n

They who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. Wait upon the Lord.<\/em><\/p>\n

Just you wait!<\/p>\n

Be not weary in well doing, saint of God. In due season you shall reap. If you don\u2019t quit.<\/em><\/p>\n
